Since March 2020, Ann Peters is General Manager at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp.
From 2006 until 2020, Ann was Director of Research and Internationalisation at Hasselt University. She shaped the research policy and coordinated external funding programmes at various levels – from Flemish to European. Ann represented Hasselt University’s research policy and research competences in various councils and committees, including management positions on boards of directors.
She started her professional career in 1995 at Ghent University, coordinating university development cooperation programmes in Ghent and abroad a.o. in Zambia, Vietnam, Ecuador and South Africa.
Ann Peters studied plant biotechnology and bioengineering (chemistry) at the universities of Hasselt and Ghent, and obtained a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Liège.
